We're going to be dashing all over town tonight to party with a few of our favorite fellow bloggers. Damn the cold, damn the CTA, damn it all ... we're going out to get into some major offline hi-jinks!
Our first stop will be at Risqué Café (v)where FOC
Gapers Block is having
a reader meetup starting at 8 p.m. They're offering $1 PBR tallboys* from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. -- and really, that would be enough to get us there -- and as an added bonus Transmission writers Michelle Meywes and Lisa White will be making their DJ debut at the event. Expect the beat to be more indie-up than electro-boogie-down, an excellent way to kick off the evening.
Once we're properly lubricated, we're going to make our way to Faith & Whiskey (1365 W. Fullerton Ave) and brave the Ed Hardy-wearin' crowds there. Why? Well to throw back a few drinks at the
RedEye/Metromix Tweetup** with RedEye hostess
Ana Fernatt and friends. It'll be a good chance for you to meet a bunch of the other Chicago Now bloggers and, if enough of us show up, we should be able to provide a healthy buffer to keep us separated from the bar's usual clientele, right? The party there kicks off at 8 p.m. and carries on until last call.
Let's get our social media drink on, people.
*Make sure you say "Gapers Block" at the door to get a wristband for the sweet PBR deal.
**O.K., we have to ask. If you're promoting an event through Facebook invites and other online postings is it still a Tweetup? We think not, but that's not gonna keep us from attending.
